Solanum Quitoense, also known as Lulo, native to South America, Ecuador and columbia where it is enjoyed as a juice, sherbet and as a wine.
The mind-blowing experience of my first bite after reading that it tastes like pineapple and lemon and others saying rhubard and lime. The fruit with a firm outer skin is filled with a green and yellow juice. The first taste that comes through is a refreshing tang followed by an unfamiliar sweetness. Absolutely delicious. I guess that is why they use so many fruits to describe it.
This grows well in shaded areas as it is semi hardy and it’s leaves is sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Bears fruit prolifically so you can experiment with your new flavours.
